Mandate

Directorate General (Research), Livestock & Dairy Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar is to have healthy and productive animals which ensure wealthy nation. VRI is determined to evolve strategies for sustainable development and improvement of animal section leading to poverty alleviation through food and social security and to develop appropriate technologies and more focused research on applied problems.

1.            Applied as well as basic research to improve health and production of animals

2.            Development of new appropriate techniques and their transfer.

3.            Development of potent and effective vaccines against diseases.

4.            Surveillance, Diagnosis and Control of Disease.
